On February 6, 2018, ALIAS Chamber Ensemble presents “Unbounded Creativity,” a concert celebrating the music of American Immigrant composers. The event will include classical music by Bright Sheng, Mohammed Fairouz, Bela Bartok, Yotam Haber, Ola Gjeilo, and Irving Berlin and poetry readings by poet and social practice activist Stephanie Pruitt Gaines (who was named by Essence Magazine as one of their 40 favorite poets). Guest performers include countertenor Patrick Rogers Dailey, mezzo soprano Gayle Shay, and Vox Grata Women’s Choir. The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Blair School of Music’s Ingram Hall. Proceeds will benefit ALIAS in the Community, a program which shares the gift of chamber music with underserved schools and communities in Middle Tennessee.
