Message from Our President

Welcome.

I’m Jeff Stein, President of the Board of First Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashville, otherwise known as FUUN.

Thank you for visiting our website. We hope you easily find information about our beloved community here.

Acronyms often help to characterize the essence of what they represent. Certainly we have a great deal of fun at FUUN through the welcoming, open-minded and creative social community activities we encourage our members and friends to join. In those letters I also see a characterization expanded to mean For Us Unbelievably Nurturing. I come to this underlying spirit of FUUN after almost three decades of diverse participation in its programs from committee memberships and leadership to teaching children’s religious education, to social justice actions in the larger world that have helped me not only live my values but get fully in touch with them. We have an axiom here that the more you give the more you receive. And I can tell you I have learned so much through FUUN that has also become invaluable in my family life, my career and my other unaffiliated activities. It all comes from CGA. I’m using letters again, these being my capsulizing of FUUN’s foundational Mission Statement: Create, Grow, Act. I hope you find you can realize these FUUN opportunities here the way my wife Brenda and I and our two children have.
So, again I say, “Welcome.”
