First Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashville (FUUN) Dinners for Nine
Registering for the 2017-2018 church year
Dinners for 9 is a great way to socialize with other UU members and friends, new and old.
Please register by Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017 to be placed in a year-long group. However, you can register at any time during the church year (September-May).
We put groups together based on information which you provide in the Registration Form. We will do our best to meet your needs, but you can help – for example if you want a group with singles close to your age, or parents with young children, please encourage FUUN people you know in that demographic to register for Dinners for Nine.
New to Dinners for Nine?
This is how it works:
- Groups of 9 people are put together by the Fellowship Committee based on your input in the Registration Form below.
• Most groups meet monthly. At the first dinner, the group should decide what meeting schedule will work best for them.
• Each dinner is hosted by a different group member, usually at the host’s house. Every participant is expected to host at least once. Some may prefer to host at a restaurant, park or at the church, for a nice change of pace.
• The host prepares an entrée, and other group members bring an appetizer, side dish, salad, wine, bread or dessert.
Returning Dinners for Nine Participants
Some participants like to remain in the group they were in last year, and others like to take the opportunity to be in a new group. Please express your preference in the Registration Form.
If you want to continue with your group from last year, and if less than 9 of your group’s members register and express a desire to remain in last year’s group, we will add new members to your group.
We hope we will receive enough requests to form a group of families with children, but that does not always happen. If you want to be part of a group with children, please encourage other growing FUUN families you know to participate in Dinners for 9. We will form a family group only if there is enough interest. Please indicate your preference for being in a group with children in the Registration Form.
Important: Unless you are placed in a family group, the expectation is that the group will be adults only.
Once again, thank you for participating in this important community experience. Our connections with each other is what makes FUUN strong!
If you have any questions, please feel free to stop by the table in the Social Area on Sunday, Sept. 10, 17, 24 or Oct. 1, 2017. Or contact the Fellowship Committee at email@example.com.
