Ah, the Harvest Moon, one of the easiest moons to understand. This is the time of ripening and of reaping what you have sown. It comes a little early this year, perhaps to hurry and collect the odd fruits of the solar eclipse in August. After the transformation of the dramatic eclipse, we are now reexamining our fields: did they produce what we thought we had planted? Do we still have a taste for what we sowed? Our ritual will sit with these question as we decide, is it time to sit down and feast, or is this year’s harvest strange?
