Seeking a Director of Music Ministries, Apply by Mar. 31

First Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashville, a 500-member congregation, is seeking a Director of Music Ministries to begin June 1. The position is responsible for leading the planning of music for all worship services, including hymns, choir anthems, instrumentals, and other music. The individual will direct the adult volunteer choir and any other choirs supported by congregational interest.

This position reports to and works in collaboration with the Lead Minister. There will also be a collaborative relationship among the board, congregation committees, choirs, and music professionals. The Director serves as an important point of contact in the church’s pastoral ministry to the choir. The position requires spiritual and artistic leadership and initiative in its oversight of the congregation’s music ministries.

Qualifications include the following: Familiarity with UU heritage and values, Choral conducting experience, Bachelor’s degree in music or relevant experience.
