Second Minister at First Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashville
The First Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashville, FUUN, a liberal religious community, is seeking a Second Minister. It is a 10 hour per week position to offer pastoral care when the Lead Minister is out of town, ceremonial services and counseling to the membership. The Second Minister will also be the liaison with the Resource and Development Council of the church, and will submit a staff report to the Board. This position reports to the Lead Minister. Specific office hours will be determined in consultation with the Lead Minister.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Promotes UU heritage and values.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a collaborative environment.
- Ability to work with and engage diverse groups of individuals with a variety of skill levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of the history and development of Unitarianism and Universalism.
Familiar with the Bylaws of the Unitarian Universalist Association, and fully committed to the purpose, objectives and guidelines of the Unitarian Universalist Ministers Association.
Master of Divinity degree (accredited by the Association of Theological Schools) or its equivalent or an equivalent educational experience.
Must be at least in Candidacy Status with the UUA.
Experience and training in cultural competence.
Ordained and Fellowshipped as a Unitarian Universalist Minister.
At least two years of experience in providing pastoral care.
