Snowflake Tree- Christmas Gift Program for Foster Children

Davidson County Community Advisory Board (DCCAB) in partnership with the Department of Children’s Services is pleased to announce the annual Foster Child Christmas Program for 2017. Donations of toys and clothes from generous sponsors like you ensure Davidson County foster children will be able to have gifts under the tree at Christmas just like other children.  A gift card is a wonderful alternative, and they are very popular with teens.  It is difficult to imagine, but having new toys and clothes that belong to them is a new and thrilling experience for many children in foster care.

The Davidson County Department of Children’s Services currently has 500 foster children from newborn to 18 years. The children live in a variety of placements and are unable to spend Christmas with their families. Your gifts mean so much to the children who receive them and allow them to have a real Christmas.

Help fulfill the Christmas wish list for a Foster Child this Christmas. It’s easy –

Email snowflakeree@thefuun.org with any questions. The due date for the presents is Dec. 10, 2017.

See below to peruse the children’s Christmas Wish lists and then email Charity Kimbrell at 615-481-4053 to indicate your top two choices and we’ll be in touch asap.  Thank you!

 Instructions:

  • Do not wrap gifts.
  • Do not label gifts.
  • Purchase the gifts listed.
  • Put gifts in a bag with the name of the child.
  • Return to the Church by 12/10/17. (if you want, put gifts in a duffle bag for the children to use as a suitcase.) For more information contact Charity Kimbrell 615-481-4053 or CLKimb@aol.com (If you want, put gifts in a duffle bag for the children to use as a suitcase.)

You may also give cash or gift cards for others to buy for those not chosen.

Last year, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, we provided gifts and toys to 450 children. If you are interested in sponsoring a child, please contact us. There is no way to predict what a lasting influence your gift may have on a foster child. We are very grateful for your support and thank you.

  1. I signed up for this last week and I was wondering when I might hear back. We aren’t members but we plan to start attending, hopefully this Sunday. I saw this when I was checking the website for service times and wanted to go ahead and sign up since I knew we would be out of town yesterday. Hope to hear from you soon! And please let me know if there is a need for us to do more than one.
